a little blurb.
Today I went on a day trip to Chicago to see my cousin get his first communion. Now, I just want to start by saying that this family is one of the most beautiful families, and I hope that if I have a family, I have a family like theirs. But, today, it hit me. At one point in the day, I was talking to ALL of the kids, holding one on my hip, who was falling asleep, teasing another, yelling “NO MORE CAFFEINE” jokingly to the others. And it hit me.
Yes, I love my job, yes I love my career, yes I want to work, but one day, you guys, I am going to be a mother. I am going to have a family, and one day, it will be MY son getting his first communion, or my daughter walking on stage to accept her college diploma. One day. Not soon, not now, but one day I am going to be a mother.
